GK Livestock and the Red Angus breed won the Hordern Trophy for Supreme Beef Pair, for the third time in a row at the 2014 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

With her twin calves at foot, the 28-month-old Senior and Grand Champion Female, GK Red Olivia 26 G41 (GK G41), paired with Wollumbi’s Grand Champion Bull, Wollumbi Hi Star H53, to take out this prestigious award again for the Red Angus breed in 2014.

Above: This year Senior and Grand Champion Red Angus Female was the Red Fine Line Mulberry two-year-old, GK Red Olivia 26 G41 who was imported from Brylor Ranch, Canada as an embryo and was also last year’s Sydney Junior Champion Red Angus heifer. She showed with four-month-old twin calves at foot by new sire, Red BCC Crimson Jewels 102U.

GK also exhibited Reserve Junior Champion Bull, GK Red Heatseeker 26 H50 (GK H50) – a 738kg, 15-month-old full sibling to GK 26 Federer F23. GK also won Reserve Senior Champion bull with another Mulberry son – the 960kg, 20-month-old GK Red Hero 26 H4 (GK H04).

Gavin and Kirrily topped off the show by winning the Breeders Group and Sire’s Progeny class (sired by Mulberry), and were named Most Successful Red Angus Exhibitor.
