Keen young Angus enthusiasts from all over the country arrived in Toowoomba in mid-January 2014 to take part in the annual Angus Youth Roundup.
Team GK included seventeen of the participants, who exhibited 23 head of cattle proudly supplied by GK Livestock for this special event. Approximately 170 youth and 200 head of cattle competed at the first Roundup to be held in Queensland since 1990.
Congratulations to the following juniors who worked superbly as a team to exhibit our cattle:
Jake Iseppi, Isabel Glasser, Riley Semmens, Emma Anderson, Annabel Glasser, Nat Grylls, Chloe Janic, Gemma Hartwig, Claudia Nielsen, Jasmin Ramage, Kate Lumber, Hannah Powe, Lauren Berecry, Lane Evans, Bede McAlpin, John McKenna and Martin Ebbs.
The GK team of cattle won the following major awards along with many other class placings:
GK Red 605 Hitman H30: Champion Bull exhibited by Lauren Berecry
GK Red Rouge 26 H11: Reserve Intermediate Champion Heifer exhibited by Claudia Neilsen
GK 2R Cashed Up Lady H8: Senior Champion Heifer exhibited by Hannah Powe
GK Bon Jovi J5: Champion Steer exhibited by Martin Ebbs
GK Red Violet 605 H31: Congratulations to Isabel Glasser whose heifer placed 2nd in a huge class. Isabel purchased Violet out of the 2013 National Red Angus Sale.
